A resident identified as Lisa (resident) asked the Selectboard for increased enforcement and clearer reporting after repeated overweight vehicles and daily truck traffic on the Crescent Bridge, she said.
"It would be nice to have some enforcement — have the police sit there and actually pass out tickets," Lisa said, adding that she had been receiving photographs of heavy trucks from neighbors and that previous informal enforcement conversations with the police chief had not changed behavior.
Lisa listed company names she said regularly cross the bridge and asked whether the police could provide a count of warnings or overweight citations issued in recent months. Town staff said they would ask the police chief for a report on citations or warnings and follow up with Lisa.
Lisa also asked whether the bridge cameras could be made viewable via a live feed on the town web page or Facebook. Town staff responded that the cameras were installed to document damage and that the state likely restricts public live-streaming for privacy and license‑plate concerns; staff said they would check whether a live feed is permitted and whether the system can produce an accessible stream.
The resident also described a recent incident in which two cars met on the bridge and both stopped in the middle, and she urged the town to avoid announcing enforcement details in advance to make compliance more likely.
What happens next: Town staff said they will relay Lisa’s concerns to the police chief and request citation/warning counts for a defined recent period. Staff will also check with the state and their camera system vendor about the feasibility and legality of posting a live feed.
No formal action was recorded on the agenda item at the meeting.
