Camarillo Library plans Earth Month programs, wildfire and teen financial-literacy workshops

Library staff provided an activities update during the March 26 meeting outlining Earth Month programming and workshops for teens.
Library staff said the library will offer sustainable-education workshops in April, including gardening basics for adults and children and a tomato-gardening session. The library also will host a Firewise Living: From Structure to Landscape program on Tuesday, April 29, with a certified master gardener covering vegetation management for wildfire-prone areas.
For National Financial Literacy Month in April, library staff will offer a three-week workshop series for teens on banking, borrowing and budgeting every Thursday at 4 p.m. In addition, the library’s business services coordinator will host a workshop on Wednesday, April 2 to help prepare teens to land summer jobs.
Library staff invited council members and the public to attend the programs and said information is available through the library. No council action was taken; this was a departmental activities report.
