Staff recommended approval with conditions requiring that construction plans meet water and sanitary-sewer requirements (including backflow and pretreatment programs), comply with applicable fire and building codes, and that operations remain in compliance with Article 12.08 of the City of Beaumont Code of Ordinances. Staff told commissioners it had sent 28 property-owner notices and received six in favor and zero in opposition.
Michael S. "Stoney" (identified in the record as Michael S. Stoney) said the owner is consolidating Anderson Homes’ office and a carpentry shop in one building to show clients the in-house craftsmen who build custom architectural features. He told commissioners the artisans would be on-site roughly 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. "The artisans will be in there from 07:30 to 4," Stoney said.
The commission voted to approve the specific use permit with the three staff conditions. The chair announced the ayes had it and closed the item.
The conditions require coordination with water utilities and compliance with building and fire codes before occupancy and ongoing compliance with Article 12.08 of the Beaumont Code of Ordinances.
