HARRISON COUNTY, Texas — At the Jan. 7, 2025 Harrison County Commissioners Court meeting, Road and Bridge staff reported the end of a hurricane‑debris cleanup deadline and said crews are shifting to pothole patching and routine maintenance. Most were applications from Etex Telephone Cooperative for fiber‑optic installations on multiple roads including Edmondson Road, West Liberty Road, Oscar Reagan Road, Pine Tree Road, Redbud, Dogwood and Oakwood Drive. Sabine Oil & Gas submitted an application on Tom Woodley Road for a water‑line related to oil/gas operations; county staff noted the proposed work will pipe off produced water to avoid repeatedly opening utility cutoffs and to protect the road surface. Cypress Valley Water Supply submitted a single‑service water hookup application on James Marshall Road. The court approved the utility applications by voice vote, 4–0.
The court also approved the final plat for the Buchanan Addition subdivision at the intersection of Buchanan Road and Collins Creek Road in Precinct 3. County staff described the subdivision as a private development of five lots totaling 4.151 acres, with utilities already in the right‑of‑way; staff said the plat meets county subdivision regulations. The developer, McCowan, was present; commissioners thanked him and approved the plat by voice vote, 4–0.
