Golden Crescent CASA seeks volunteers in Gonzales County during 30th anniversary

She said Golden Crescent CASA has operated in Gonzales County for three decades and expressed appreciation for the court's ongoing support.
Snead told the court that in 2024 the organization served 35 children in Gonzales County and assisted 21 families but currently has only one volunteer in the county. The program's mission is to provide a trained volunteer for every child in care; Snead said the agency is launching recruitment and training efforts, has established a shared office partnership with Community Health Centers of South Central Texas (Ashley Garcia), will participate in local outreach such as chamber events, and plans a ribbon cutting at its Victoria office to mark the 30th anniversary.
Snead asked commissioners to refer any individuals or church and civic groups who might be interested in learning about becoming a CASA volunteer and offered to meet with groups to present the volunteer role and training.
