Ordinance 25‑07, authorizing the city engineer to perform design work for resurfacing West 210th Street, remains on second reading; City Engineer Kerber described the project timeline and traffic-management approach during committee discussion.
Kerber said the engineering work is scheduled for 2025 and the resurfacing construction is planned for 2026. She told council members the project will be bid in the fall, with award expected at the turn of the calendar year and construction occurring roughly April through September of the construction year. Kerber estimated construction would run about six months and said the city would seek to maintain traffic using flaggers, though brief traffic-pattern changes may be required for repairs such as pothole or poth depth fixes.
Council members asked whether the city would coordinate with RTA on bus routing and stop locations; Kerber said the city will work with RTA during design and will plan for alternate routes or temporary stops if needed to avoid routing buses onto smaller side streets.
Because ordinance 25‑07 is already on second reading, committee discussion did not require a vote and no final action was taken in committee.
