Council member Pali Vanoglu reported to the Committee of the Whole on March 24 about the March 17 Tri-County Office on Aging meeting. Vanoglu said the auditor (Manor Kosterison) presented and the agency received a clean audit with no concerns.
Vanoglu said the agency is updating its strategic plan for 2025–2030 with priorities that include strengthening finances, workforce retention and maximizing program resources. She reported service metrics since the last meeting as: 1,065 home-delivery meals, 353 carry-out meals and 606 congregate-dining meals, and said the agency currently has 976 participants enrolled. When asked about the status of Medicaid/Medicare waiver programs and whether federal changes had an immediate impact, Vanoglu said the agency was "continuing to do what they're doing" and that ‘‘nothing has changed at this point’’ based on the information presented at the Tri-County Office on Aging meeting.
Council member Brown asked specifically about the waiting list for home- and community-based waiver services; Vanoglu said there is a wait list and that she could obtain and provide the specific number to council members, but she did not state the waiting-list size during the committee meeting.
