Planning Commission adopts CIP, schedules zoning text hearings and accepts annual reports

At the March 20 meeting the Farmington Hills Planning Commission took several procedural actions: adopting the city’s Capital Improvement Plan for 2026–2031, setting public hearings for two zoning-text amendments, accepting the Historic District Commission 2024 annual report and adopting the Planning Commission’s 2024 annual report.
The Planning Commission voted to forward the Capital Improvement Plan for 2026–2031 to the City Council. Commissioners said they would have preferred a brief staff presentation on the CIP but nevertheless moved to adopt and forward the plan.
Planning staff also secured motions to set public hearings for two draft zoning-text amendments (filed as draft zoning text amendment 3-20-24 and 4-20-24) to the commission’s next available regular meeting agenda. The commission accepted the Historic District Commission’s 2024 annual report and adopted its own 2024 annual report.
The commission re-elected incumbents for another year of service, approved minutes for several recent meetings and closed the meeting after conducting the listed administrative items.
