Council introduced an ordinance March 24 to authorize conveyance of two city‑owned parcels (parcel numbers ending in 408‑008 and 408‑003 in the packet) to local residents Claudio Rodrigo Aguilera Quizada and Luisa Naleli Cruz for a combined purchase price of $10,000.
Kristia Brockway, director of Economic Development, said the parcels were acquired by the city via Oakland County tax foreclosure in September 2011 and are zoned RA‑3 single‑family residential. Brockway said each buyer submitted a $750 deposit and the agreed sales price is $5,000 per parcel (total $10,000). The sale requires that the purchased parcel(s) be combined with buyers’ existing lot per city requirements.
A council member moved the ordinance’s introduction; the motion passed by roll call with all present members voting yes and one member absent. Brockway noted staff and the city attorney have prepared closing documents and will return to council at the second reading for final approval.
Council members were advised the ordinance requires two readings before conveyance is final; the sale will not be completed until after the second reading and closing steps are finished.
