The Farmington Hills City Council voted March 24 to approve a second amendment to the planned unit development (PUD) agreement for Corwell Health permitting a replacement of the freestanding monument sign at Grand River Avenue.
Charmaine Kettler Schmelt, director of Planning and Community Development, explained the PUD language amendment follows prior site‑plan and PUD approvals; the amendment updates agreement language to reflect the new monument sign design. Kevin Schull, a representative of Corwell Health, attended to answer council questions.
A council motion to approve the second amendment was moved and carried by voice vote with no recorded opposition. Planning staff indicated the approval completes the PUD sign modification process and allows the applicant to proceed with sign permitting and installation consistent with the amended agreement.
