Board approves consent agenda, accepts gifts and moves to executive session

The board also accepted four gifts reported by district staff: $1,000 to Butler Middle School from Gregory and Linda Burns for flexible seating; $1,000 to Waukesha West from Jennifer Brown for Project Graduation expenses; $5,000 to Waukesha North from John Arons (split as $2,000 to the Black Student Union and $3,000 toward the football program); and a signed Broadway poster donated to Waukesha North from Chuck and Linda Malone (estimated value $500–$1,000) intended for display in the theater area. The consent motion was moved by Mark Borowski and passed 9-0.
After completing open business, the board voted 9-0 to adjourn to executive session under Wisconsin Statutes section 19.85(1)(e) for deliberating and negotiating the purchase or sale of public property and 19.85(1)(c) for consideration of employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of a public employee; the stated executive-session business included a superintendent midyear evaluation.
Roll-call votes for the consent agenda and the motion to adjourn to executive session were recorded as unanimous (9-0). The board scheduled its next meeting for Wednesday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m.
