Waukesha board approves updated AP Psychology resource for district high schools

The School District of Waukesha Board of Education on Thursday approved the Teaching and Learning Committee’s recommendation to adopt an updated AP Psychology textbook and curriculum resource for district high schools.
Committee chair Betty Koenig told the board that AP Psychology had not been updated in the district since 2006 and that the College Board made significant changes to the course and exam in 2018. The district AP teachers reviewed options and recommended the updated resource to provide a common experience across the district’s AP and semester psychology offerings. The Teaching and Learning Committee approved the recommendation 4-0 and the full board approved it 9-0.
Koenig moved the adoption for an eight-year period to cover both semester and year-long courses; Anthony Zenobia seconded the motion. The roll call vote recorded all nine board members voting aye.
The administration said the new resource is intended to align instruction across the district and to reflect College Board updates to the AP Psychology course and exam.
