Olivia Feng, the Appleton North student board representative, gave the board a series of school updates covering athletics, co‑curricular activities and recent recognitions.
Feng reported that the boys swim team had multiple dual wins, boys basketball was one game behind conference leaders, and the ASL hockey team remained undefeated. She said the North forensics team had won first place at two competitions and that the Lightning performance team was competing at nationals after multiple first‑place finishes.
Feng also previewed Appleton North theater events, saying the musical Hadestown would run in early March and that a spring production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is planned for May. She noted DECA and HOSA qualifiers and that the Appleton Youth Education Initiative plans a district hackathon event in April.
Feng told the board she had been selected as a Coca‑Cola Scholar, the only student selected from Wisconsin and one of 50 nationwide from more than 5,000 applicants. “I was recently selected as a Coca Cola Scholar…there's only a 50 selected out of over a 5,000 applicants,” Feng said.
Board members offered congratulations and asked clarifying scheduling questions for the musical.
