Committee members said one logging unit currently in work should be cleared soon, but that a nearby unit owned or managed by a different operator—identified in the meeting as Western Timber—has a seasonal restriction (no cutting while wet) and could require a full closure of the trail where a detour is not feasible. Staff said they will keep the committee updated if and when a no‑detour closure is necessary and discussed signage and runner detour options for upcoming races.
Race organizers and trail event staff told the committee they are coordinating alternative routes; one organizer said race-day detours could add steep climbs and additional distance for participants. Committee members discussed signage, public notices and timing to reduce impacts on scheduled events.
The committee agreed to monitor closures, improve signage at detour junctions and notify event organizers when construction windows are planned.
