Committee hears staffing and volunteer update after trails maintenance fellow steps back

Committee members asked that large treefalls or work that requires equipment be reported to county operations rather than handled by untrained volunteers.
Operational updates included a Volunteer‑led survey near the nature center that identified roughly 700–800 feet of trail needing resurfacing and about 500 feet requiring base repairs for drainage and slumping. Staff said they will scope engineering support for that segment and return with cost and scheduling options.
Committee members also raised a local road/trail concern: potholes and surface deterioration on a town road (referred to as Town Road in the meeting). County staff said the road previously received one layer of chip seal and another layer is planned to follow; staff and board members agreed to check the road condition and follow up.
