The Milford Planning Board voted Feb. 4 to send revised Planning Board rules and procedures to a public hearing on Feb. 18, directing staff to publish the required notice and give the public an opportunity to comment.
Terry Dolan, town planner, presented a clean, non‑redline version of the rules and explained staff restored formatting and terminology (for example, neutralizing chair/chairman language and correcting section lettering). Board members identified a few editorial issues — capitalization and numbering on pages 5–7 — and asked staff to address them before the hearing.
Board members agreed the hearing is intended to solicit public comments rather than adopt final text immediately; the board specifically voted to advertise the hearing in the Milford Cabinet to meet statutory notice requirements. Andrew Ceule moved to send the document to a public hearing on Feb. 18; Paul Amato seconded the motion. The board approved the motion by voice/roll call.
The board noted that additional minor edits may still be made before the public hearing, but asked that they avoid last‑minute substantive redlines so the public can review a stable draft. The hearing will provide at least one formal opportunity for residents to comment on the proposed rules and procedures before the board considers final adoption.
