D C Everest Wildcat News: March 3 announcements include Read Across America activities and lunch menu

Student announcers for Wildcat News at D C Everest Area School District on March 3 listed the day's lunch menu, recognized winners and birthdays, and reminded students about Read Across America activities for the week of March 3–7.

The broadcast opened with a menu announcement: chicken nuggets, sweet potato fries, fresh green beans, chilled peaches and a choice of milk for lunch that day. It also noted a birthday for “Emily M.” and congratulated recent “Paul” winners who earned a pizza-and-donut party with Officer Matt and special guest K9 Katie on Wednesday, March 5.

Gage, student announcer, offered a brief message of encouragement: "There's a difference between going through life and growing through life. If you just go through life, you don't use what you have learned in the past to help you in the future. When you grow through life, you are using everything you have learned to help you be better and do better next time." Laxton, student announcer, explained the weeklong Read Across America activities and defined diversity as "including everyone." The program encouraged students to turn in activity work for a chance to win prizes.

The broadcast reminded third- through fifth-graders to bring their "paw slips" to the main office for an opportunity to win bricks with "Miss Cartilage" (as announced). The show closed with Ashton, student announcer, signing off and wishing students a good week.
