D C Everest names 29 students of the month for January under 'We Are Connected' theme

The D C Everest Area School District used its Wildcat News broadcast on Feb. 24 to announce the district's January students of the month and to highlight the "We Are Connected" mindset.

The announcement, delivered during the school's recorded Wildcat News segment, listed 29 students from across grade levels who were recognized for demonstrating inclusive, encouraging behavior. Miss Brooks, a staff member who presented the students-of-the-month segment, said the recognized students "are always connected to anyone, and then they embrace everyone for who they are. They are also anyone who would be on anybody's dream team and is always encouraging and being positive towards other people."

The broadcast named the students individually: Kashiya Yang, Calla Smith, Elena Downs, Eliza Bialki, Lily Becker, Chloe Brandman, Riley Andreas, Amaya Kremsrider, Gabriela Zhong, Matthew Vang, Chloe Denton, Sophie Yang, Isabelle Johanek, Charlie Lee, Talley Wehmeyer, Braden Wachinski, Bailey Newton, Mirabel Voux, Owen Li, Thunder Moua, Harper Dement, Maddie Kreger Albrecht, Danny Flores, Fabricio Patino Bustamente, Preston Dittner, Audni Lowney, Andrea Anderson, Maciel Perez and Pacia Lohr.

The broadcast noted the January announcement was posted later than usual; the presenter apologized for the delay and said certificates and photos will be distributed to the recognized students. The segment closed with hosts signing off and congratulating the students.
