City manager outlines $15 million in Kasson projects and several housing developments

Tim summarized planned city capital work that he estimated at about $15,000,000: an approved new water tower; Southwest reconstruct; Eighth Avenue reconstruct; Main Street improvements focused on water mitigation and traffic calming; and an extension of Sixteenth Street from the Quick Trip stub out to Dump Road. He told members he hopes downtown business access will not be heavily restricted during construction and emphasized the number of moving pieces the city will need to manage.
Tim also noted regional development interest: REDI representatives will meet with national builder Lennar, which may affect housing options in Rochester and nearby ready communities, including Kasson.
