The Plaistow Board of Selectmen took several routine administrative actions on March 24, approving consent agenda items, reappointing leadership and approving sealed nonpublic minutes.
The board approved the consent agenda by motion. The consent agenda included the accounts payable manifests for March, draft minutes of March 3, three veterans' tax-credit applications, one elderly tax-exemption application, an abatement request for 2024, appointments to recreation and conservation commissions, and applications for secondhand-dealer and pawnbroker licenses (Village Coin Shop, Rockingham Trading Post, Nassar Diamonds, Bull Moose and GameStop). The board also approved an additional veterans tax-credit application and a water-consumption fee add-on.
For annual organization the board moved, seconded and approved keeping the incumbent chair (Bill) in place and reappointing Jay as vice chair for another year.
The board approved a motion to accept and seal nonpublic minutes from March 3, 2025.
Bob Harb of the Plaistow Exchange Club requested permission to place pinwheel gardens on the Town Green and at the safety complex for National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April; the board granted consensus approval and encouraged the Exchange Club to use additional town spaces such as the Norman A. Major Building if pinwheel numbers permit. The Exchange Club said individual pinwheels cost less than $1 and that roughly 50 were placed last year; the club aims for more this year.
These actions were passed by motion or consensus during the meeting; no substantive policy changes were enacted in these routine votes.
