The committee first approved revisions labeled EC (Buildings and Grounds Management) and ECA (Building and Grounds Security) after staff displayed suggested changes and explained the intent to update procedural clarifications and pronoun usage. Both motions passed by unanimous voice vote.
Members then approved policy EDC, "Authorized Use of School‑Controlled Equipment," with new language clarifying what equipment the policy covers and who it applies to. No further amendments were requested and the motion passed 5–0.
A separate review of EE (procedures for a listed topic) revealed a remaining instance of he/she pronouns; a committee member moved an amendment to replace the phrasing with "they," the amendment passed unanimously, and the policy was approved as amended. Committee members asked staff to update the master policy file and disseminate corrected files to district personnel.
All policy items discussed at the meeting will return as appropriate for final posting and for the regular school committee agenda where additional first/second reading steps apply.
