Student representative reports middle-school 'kindness gang' recognition, plus blood drive and dance camp dates

Ruby, the student board representative, updated the board on student-led anti-bullying and civility efforts at Eatonville Middle School (EMS). She said two student representatives from the "kindness gang" are distributing "kindness tickets" during passing periods and in hallways; the tickets record the student's name, grade and a description of the kindness shown.
Ruby said the kindness program recognized 48 middle-school students for showing kindness during February and that the student-run kindness group had grown to 17 participants. "For the month of February, they just announced that they have 48 middle schoolers, which were recognized for showing kindness," Ruby reported.
Ruby also announced upcoming student events: Eatonville High School will host a blood-mobile bus on campus on April 3 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and EHS will run a dance camp beginning in April from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the EHS commons. The student representative also noted that peer students had completed winter finals and are now on spring break.
The board thanked Ruby for the report; no board action was associated with the student updates.
