The motion passed 4–1 (Heaman and other members supported; one councilmember opposed); the mayor announced the outcome as 4–1. Separately, the council unanimously approved a proposed Isanti Community Center free Wi‑Fi public‑use policy that staff had drafted to align with comparable local policies.
Council discussion noted provider coverage in town is improving and that staff will provide a fee-comparison summary at the next meeting. Staff and council also discussed archiving meeting video and captioning as a separate item; the Wi‑Fi decision included authorization for staff to complete contract steps.
