At the study session Ward told council the proposal carried an estimated cost of $10,000 per fiscal year (anticipated to cover two fiscal years) and that recent budgetary developments tied to the reevaluation of the Lumen property made that expenditure imprudent at this time. "I have decided that this is something that should be pushed off," Ward said, adding that the item would be pulled or tabled.
Other council members voiced support for withdrawing the item for now and the council moved on to other items on the agenda. No further action was taken on the governance committee proposal during the session.
