Commission approves Beckham Road name for a new four-address lane off Mount Hope Church Road

The Rowan County Commission approved the naming of a short lane off Mount Hope Church Road as Beckham Road during a March 17 public hearing.
County staff member Anne presented the naming request, saying the Beckham family subdivided property in the 400 block off Mount Hope Church Road near the interstate and asked for Beckham Road so the four resulting addresses would have a recognized name. Anne said 911 and EMS had approved the name.
No members of the public spoke during the hearing. A commissioner moved and a second was recorded; the motion passed on a voice vote with "aye" recorded and no opposition called on the transcript.
