Mike (staff member) told council members Quanta's installation is on New Sanford Road in La Verne and will serve a facility that converts natural gas to electrical power to test large AI computing panels. "I think it'll convert into, I don't know, 12 to 15 megawatts of power," Mike said. He described the load as "pretty big" and said contractor work to tie into the high-pressure line was required.
On cost, staff said the developer will place roughly $450,000 into an escrow account to pay for the installation; the town expects no direct cost. "The total cost, I think, was somewhere in the neighborhood of 450,000. They'll put that in an escrow account and pay for everything. So there won't be any cost associated with the town," Mike said.
