The solid-waste director also presented vendor quotes for a camera system on collection trucks (vendor: Third Eye and an integrated SoftPak billing option). Staff showed video demos, explained one-time hardware costs and recurring monthly software fees, and requested an updated quote reflecting trucks already equipped with some mounts. Staff said the cameras can capture 12-second clips when drivers press a button (before/after), can prevent pickup of delinquent accounts and provide evidence for accident or customer-dispute claims. Commissioners asked for revised pricing and additional vendor comparisons before approving procurement.
