Jackson County names appointees to multiple local boards, including mental health and water authority seats

Jackson County commissioners on March 20 considered and approved appointments to several advisory and governing boards serving the county.
The commission reappointed Lydia Pennington (director of tourism at Mountain Lakes Chamber of Commerce, packet materials) to a one-year term on the Alabama Mountains, Rivers and Boundaries Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council after a nomination and roll-call vote. Commissioners also reappointed John David Jordan to a six-year term on the Marshall-Jackson Mental Health Board following a nomination; other applicants for that six-year seat included Chastity Garland and Tiffany Pickett, who were described in the application packet but not selected.
For the Jackson County Water Authority the commission received multiple applicants and, after nominations and a vote, appointed Cody Putnam to serve a six-year term (transcript records the name as "Mr. Putnam" and also contains alternate spellings; the commission confirmed the appointment). Commissioners thanked all applicants and encouraged others to apply for future openings.
