At a March 25 special meeting the St. Lucie County School Board approved a temporary easement to Florida Power and Light to provide electric service for construction at Fort Pierce Westwood Academy.
The approval came after Dr. Prince recommended the board approve the easement, saying the item corrects a prior meeting entry that had been directed toward another project. "I recommend the board approve the temporary easement to Florida Power and Light for electric service at Fort Pierce Westwood Academy for construction purposes," Dr. Prince said.
Board member Ingersoll moved to approve the easement, and board member Holly seconded the motion. With no discussion recorded, the board voted in favor; the motion carried 4-0.
The easement is described in the meeting as a temporary right for electric service associated with construction at Fort Pierce Westwood Academy. Meeting comments indicate the item had been mistakenly listed for a different project at the previous meeting and that this action directs the easement specifically to Westwood Academy. No ordinance, resolution number, contract value, start or end dates for the easement were provided in the meeting transcript.
The board adjourned immediately after the vote.
