County staff: Quarter Preservation Fund open with about $3 million available; applicants encouraged to consult staff

Helen Peters, presenting for county staff, told the Wasatch Front Transportation Technical Advisory Committee that the Quarter Preservation Fund is now open with about $3,000,000 available for projects and that staff expect to close the round near the end of June.

Peters said the fund supports preservation projects and encouraged potential applicants to call county staff for help working through applications and negotiations for more complex proposals. "No s on the end, just funding opportunity, but you should always feel free to give me a call if you're looking for money because we know different connections we can make and help you connect with," Peters said.

Peters noted some preservation proposals are straightforward and can move quickly while others require more time to negotiate. "We're getting some more sophisticated type of quarter preservation projects, and they need a little more time to negotiate and work out," she said, and added that staff are available to assist applicants with the application process.

A committee member thanked Peters for previous assistance to Cottonwood Heights and encouraged members to apply. Peters said she would be available by phone for questions.
