Construction crews near finish on Hulman Middle School addition and library-media center, Nexus superintendent says

In a March construction update at Hulman Middle School, Brad, project superintendent for Nexus, said work on a new classroom addition and the library-media center (LMC) is progressing and interior finishes are underway.
“The new addition is coming along really well. The classrooms are really starting to come together and we’re getting close to, getting finishes in,” Brad said. He described crews finishing ceiling grid on the north side, preparing to drop in lighting and HVAC, and then moving to flooring and cabinetry installation.
Brad said crews are currently closing in the LMC: “You have the frames painted, glass going in the frames. Ceiling grid is up. They’re gonna start dropping ceiling tile here soon. As the lighting goes in today along with, the grills for the ductwork, we’re getting that all set up.” He added that wet, cold weather in the previous month had limited outdoor work but allowed interior progress.
Exterior work on the south end of the addition is underway, Brad said, with brick being installed and curtain walls beginning to be set. He said crews will move into the courtyard to install brick and paneling after spray foam work is finished. Brad also described an upcoming new entrance and adjustments for student and staff flow: “That’s gonna be a big undertaking and project, so we want to get ahead of that. Rerouting, you know, areas for, student flow and and staff flow.”
A Hulman Middle School student who conducted the update, Grama, asked about recent progress and thanked Brad at the end of the update. There were no formal votes or decisions recorded during the update; statements described planned construction work and the contractor’s timeline and priorities.
Next steps described in the update include completing ceiling tile and finish work inside the addition and LMC, continuing exterior brick and curtain-wall installation, and beginning courtyard paneling once spray foam is complete. Brad indicated the dust wall in the upper sixth-grade area will be removed when interior work permits, opening that space for use.
No timeline for final completion or specific dates for the new entrance opening were provided during the update.
