City to install removable ballards at Heritage Port to accommodate new city stage

City Manager Herron told the Wheeling City Council on March 4 that the city ordered a movable event stage intended for use at multiple locations, including Heritage Port. Herron said the stage is due to be completed in mid-March with delivery after March 19.
To accommodate the stage at Heritage Port, permanent ballards there will be removed and replaced with removable ballards so the stage can be maneuvered onto the site. Herron told councilors the stage is large enough for the Wheeling Symphony's Fourth of July concert and the Blues Fest, and that it can also be deployed at smaller sites such as Center Market and Garden Park.
