Hookah Factory withdraws licensing petition; no license in possession, attorney says

At the March 26 meeting of the Springfield Board of License Commissioners, attorney Dan Kelly told the commission that the Hookah Factory will not proceed with a pending license transfer and is withdrawing its petition.
Kelly said he notified the commission office earlier in the day and that the petitioner does not have a physical license to hand in. “They're not seeking to go forward with the transfer. Normally, we would hand in the license. There is no physical license to hand in,” Kelly said.
Commissioners recorded the withdrawal on the record and did not take a vote because no active transfer remained to decide. The commission noted no further action was necessary at that time.
