City to recommend Logan Lankford for commission vacancy; interview planned

"She is going to be recommending a fellow named Logan Lankford who's involved in the building field," David said during the March 19 meeting. City staff described Lankford as a project manager for a construction firm who lives in Liberty Lake and meets the commission’s qualifications. David said the mayor’s recommendation, a background check and council approval could permit Lankford to be seated in time for the commission’s April meeting.
David also said a second candidate remains in the pool and is scheduled for a Zoom interview one week later. He asked commission members for volunteers to participate in that interview. Commissioners volunteered to take part in the online question-and-answer session.
The remarks were informational. No formal appointment or vote by the commission occurred at the meeting; any appointment requires formal action by the city council after the mayor’s recommendation and completion of required checks.
