A proposed soccer complex was discussed as part of the 60-acre strategy. Staff noted the city will pursue a site footprint and design before mobilizing private fundraising; the immediate step is consultant selection to provide accurate concept layout and costs. Staff said trail development and park expansion projects will be coordinated with a broader citywide trail plan.
Funding and phasing questions were raised about the city’s share of a roughly $770,000 local match for the soccer-related components; staff said private fundraising will be needed and the consultant’s footprint will drive those requests.
