SRLJC members press county to speed review of Racial Equity Committee chair applicant

"I'm concerned that the commissioners aren't gonna act on it quickly enough," said John (identified by first name only in the meeting), asking that council members receive the applicant’s resume and letters of recommendation by email before the next meeting so the council can discuss and then recommend the candidate to the commissioners.
Co‑chair Mike said he had checked and confirmed the file had been placed with the county commissioners and that only a few had reviewed it so far. Council members Mary Anne and Gwen were named by meeting participants as volunteers helping with outreach and review. Justin (vice chair, identified by first name only) and other members discussed the need to improve the visibility and timeliness of future solicitations and term tracking for council‑appointed positions.
