“The systems use cameras that are mounted to the school buses and they capture vehicles illegally passing the stop buses,” Campbell said, noting other states have adopted similar programs. He described the measure as a clarification after a 2019 statute restricting red‑light cameras left school districts uncertain whether stop‑arm cameras were allowed.
