Parks committee sets pool season dates, considers rebuild and added late-night hours

The Parks and Recreation committee recommended keeping admission and party pricing unchanged for the 2025 pool season, setting May 24 as the opening date and Aug. 3 as the closing date, and adding a second late-evening session on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
"Tuesday evening late nights have been very successful, so we're going to add a second one," Parks committee member Chris Greger said. The committee also plans an end-of-season party for pass holders on Aug. 9 to encourage season-pass purchases.
Committee members discussed two quotes for a potential pool rebuild and asked Cliff (staff) to gather additional quotes and ideas for expansion and improvements; no final decision or funding appropriation was made at the committee level. Commissioners discussed seeking ARPA funds or including a pool rebuild in next year’s capital budget. Greger said the existing pool appears to be near the end of its useful life and that the committee expects to return to budget and finance with cost estimates.
Committee members also noted delays on a sign for park boards and discussed adding more cameras in the park.
