City Planner Ian Velez told the council the Planning Commission had unanimously recommended approval at its Feb. 25 meeting (6–0) and that the four preconditions attached by the commission had been satisfied. Velez said the plat converts private roadway easements into dedicated public right‑of‑way and dedicates additional right‑of‑way at a corner radius; no specific redevelopment is planned at this time — the change is administrative to tidy parcel lines prior to a potential sale.
The applicant’s representative was not present. Council Member Mark Engert moved to approve the record plat; Deputy Mayor Belinda Kenley seconded. The council approved the application by voice vote.
Why it matters: Approving the record plat clears title and right‑of‑way questions at a prominent commercial corner, which staff said eases future property transactions or redevelopment. The city engineer and city planner reviewed the submittal and indicated outstanding review comments had been addressed prior to council action.
