Putnam County signs off on Community Corrections grant application; director asked for additional $20,000

Jamie Hunt, presenting on behalf of Community Corrections, asked commissioners to sign the county’s Community Corrections grant application and said the office requested an additional $20,000 in the application to add program workstations and expand online training access for clients.
Hunt said the award amount is uncertain and that the county will know the actual award in June or early July; if the county receives funds the commission will return to finalize the budget. "We're trying to add, like, workstations in our existing space so we don't have to have any additional space," Hunt said, explaining the request aims to support education and vocational access for program participants.
Commissioners voted to authorize the commission president to sign all necessary documents for the Community Corrections grant submission. The motion passed by unanimous "aye." Hunt said staff will submit the application by the end of the week to meet the deadline.
