Neola consultant Cindy Dombrowski said the presentation is part of a multi-session review: "This is the fourth of our series of workshops we've had to review the draft policies that are being created for, revision and improve improvement of the policies of the district." The board spent most of the workshop reviewing streamlined language, deciding which administrative procedures will be written after formal policy adoption, and identifying several items that needed additional discussion.
Why it matters: The 2,000 chapter governs district operations and curriculum; the 9,000 chapter governs how the district interacts with volunteers, families and community organizations. Changes to those chapters set how frontline staff and schools will be expected to implement instruction, family engagement and library/media standards.
