District administrators and a student representative used the March 25 meeting to preview community events and student achievements.
Boyertown Middle School East is marking its 50th anniversary with an open house on Thursday, April 10. A school presenter described the event as a two‑hour open house that begins with doors opening at 5:45 p.m. and a 6 p.m. start in the auditorium; the NJROTC will present the colors and there will be music and student organization displays throughout the building. The presenter said organizers expect a large crowd and suggested carpooling because the school lot is sized for a middle school rather than a high school.
As part of the anniversary promotion, the school organized an aerial photo and video on the athletic field: the presenter said "about over 900 people" participated and the group was assembled and photographed in about 25 minutes. The presenter described museum‑style displays by decade in the library and lighter refreshments during the event.
The student representative reported district highlights including theatrical performances (Bridal School West’s production of Newsies Jr.), regional and state STEM and math competitions, and athletics updates: Boyertown High School wrestling placed fourth as a team in team states with three wrestlers qualifying for individual state competition; the girls’ flag‑football team opened its season and was noted for early success. The student representative also announced a fundraising golf outing for the Boyertown High School golf team scheduled for June 13 at Hickory Valley Golf Course.
