School board approves T‑Mobile hotspots deal, multiple contracts and a stadium turf change order

Later in the meeting the board considered a change order for Alma Bryant High School stadium turf identified as Action Item G31. The superintendent reported the original contract amount as $1,686,761 and a revised amount of $1,789,810; the increase between those figures is $103,049. The superintendent said the revised amount would come out of district funds described in the meeting as “2,022 mon money” (not further specified in the transcript).
The board approved Action Items G31 through G47 as a group by motion and voice vote. The consent agenda (H1–H24) was also approved by a single motion; consent item H1 was a one‑year site license for IXL Learning for Mobile County Training Middle School, paid from ARP funds for $4,614.
On student discipline, the board voted to approve the listed expulsions while pulling specific cases for separate consideration. The chairman requested that expulsions numbered 2, 4, 10, 12, 18, 24, 31, 34, 40 and 41 be pulled; the remaining expulsions on the list were approved by motion and voice vote.
