Polk County Commissioners approved removing Trinity County and the cities of Groveton and Trinity from Polk County’s joint interjurisdictional emergency management plan and authorized submission of a plan covering only Polk County and its five incorporated cities to the Texas Division of Emergency Management by April 4.
County staff said they revisited the joint resolution after a prior presentation in Trinity County and, because Polk County did not want the county’s emergency plan submission to be delayed, the court directed staff to prepare a Polk‑only plan rather than wait for Trinity County’s decision.
The court approved the change and directed emergency management to submit the revised plan to TDEM by the stated deadline.
