The San Angelo Independent School District Board of Trustees took the following formal actions at its March 17 regular meeting.
- Consent items A–F (donations; minutes from Feb. 10 and Feb. 18 meetings; quarterly investment report ending 02/28/2025; child nutrition bids for 2024–25; TASB policy update; bid 24‑025 trades): approved 7–0. Motion by Mr. Gallegos; second by Mrs. Arroyo.
- Bills, accounts and financial statements (February 2025): approved 7–0. Motion mover and seconder noted from pre‑agenda workshop; trustee comment pointed to financial transparency reports available on the district website.
- Bid 25‑001: Central Oak sewer line replacement — board approved contracting with Precision Plumbing Solutions LLC (San Antonio) for Option 3, described by staff as excavating under slab and replacing the sanitary line, for a total contract price of $334,489 with a $50,000 contingency (total allocated). Motion by Mr. Dindal; second by Mr. Gallegos. Vote: 7–0.
- Open education resource transition plan: approved 6–1. Motion by Mrs. Duncan; second by Doctor Mills. See separate article for details; approval allows district to proceed with local transition steps and TEA certification.
- Certification of provision of instructional materials (TEA survey) for 2025–26: ratified 6–1. Motion by Mr. Bridal; second by Mrs. Duncan. This certification is required before the district may access state ordering funds through EMAT.
- Superintendent’s recommendations for 2025–26 administrative contracts: approved 7–0. Motion by Doctor Mills; second by Mr. Gallegos.
- Purchase of one 2025 Ultra Coachliner SE student travel bus (51‑passenger) from National Bus Sales (TIPS pricing): approved 7–0 at a purchase price of $373,005.50 per specification sheet; funding from fund balance. Motion by Mr. Bridal; second by Mr. Gallegos. Staff said the bus can be on site in about 30 days and will replace aging Van Hool coaches and reduce charter costs.
- The board entered executive session under Texas Government Code 551.074 for personnel matters and returned with no action taken.
