Grant ratification and NDOT acknowledgments: Commissioners ratified two Community Crossings Matching Grant (CCMG) agreements tied to the bid projects: DES ending in 111 for Bridge 44 (maximum match awarded $204,750) and DES ending in 112 for Pine View Drive (award $222,500). Staff noted CCMG pays 50% of eligible construction costs up to the awarded maximum and the actual reimbursement will be based on the low bid and eligible costs.
The board also approved an NDOT “unofficial local detour” acknowledgment related to a planned short‑term closure of State Road 32 (between State Road 75 and 1175 West) for multiple small‑structure replacements beginning April 7; the planned closure is expected to last about 20 days. County staff explained that local traffic often diverts onto county roads (for example, County Road 100 South and 1175 West) and that the acknowledgment allows the county to seek reimbursement from INDOT for damage or costs incurred on that unofficial detour route.
Other NDOT/INDOT items ratified included a construction agreement for Bridge 162 (DES 2301599) on County Road 500 South and an INDOT Local Public Agency (LPA) reimbursement agreement for the county’s four‑year bridge inspection program; both items were ratified as standard state grant/administration agreements. The board also approved a task order for construction inspection services (BFS Task Order 56) for a fiber installation project, not to exceed $35,000, to be reimbursed by the utility applicant.
