Greene County approves Feb. 26 minutes and financial claims; staff reports audit contact and account balances

Greene County meeting members voted to approve the minutes from the Feb. 26 meeting and to approve the county financial report and claims; both motions were seconded and carried by voice vote.
The approvals came after a financial update from Matt, who reported a beginning balance of $141,079.48 for the month of February, trash fee collections of $2,130 and disbursements of about $28,001.84, leaving a February balance of $115,025.06. Matt said the active balance since that report is $88,001.75. He also noted significant repair and maintenance costs for the county skid steer, and a workers’ compensation insurance charge of $2,869 that will appear on next month’s report.
Matt told the meeting that the State Board of Accounts contacted county staff this week requesting information for a financial audit covering 2021 through 2024. He said he will work with Marvin and Sharon to gather the requested materials and that auditors will be in contact to pick up documents.
Board members asked for a comparative financial statement covering 2020–2025 to appear in a future packet. A motion to approve the financial report and claims was made, seconded and approved by voice vote; the meeting record does not list named roll-call votes.
The meeting ended after brief additional business and an adjournment motion that was seconded and carried by voice vote.
