The La Conner Town Council approved engineering and construction steps for town pedestrian-improvement projects on Washington, Lotus and Road Streets, including an amendment for additional engineering work and formal execution of a construction agreement.
Council approved Amendment No. 1 to the David Evans & Associates contract to complete survey/engineering work tied to the pedestrian-improvement project. The amount discussed during the meeting for that amendment was stated as $16,164 ("16,000 and change"). Councilperson Chamberlain moved to approve the amendment and Councilperson Wallen seconded; the motion passed.
Council also approved the town's construction agreement with EME Construction for the Washington and Lotus Streets pedestrian-improvement project and authorized the mayor to sign the contract. The agreement and its signature pages were described as the final construction contract documentation; council moved and seconded the motion to sign the agreement and voted to approve it.
Town staff said final signed originals will be filed at town hall and that the project award had already been made to the contractor. Staff did not present a separate new project budget vote during the meeting; the actions recorded were approval of the engineering amendment and signature of the construction agreement.
