The Fond du Lac School District Board of Education voted unanimously on March 24 to renew the district strategic plan for 2025–2028.
Chief Academic Officer Nate Steinbauer presented the renewal to the board and said the district’s pillars — including student achievement, safety, employee engagement and collaborative culture — remain the right foundation even as specific action steps evolve. “As I prepare to embark on the superintendency role, I would like to see the direction we've been going continue,” Steinbauer said.
Board members asked the administration to consider whether bus safety and student mental health should be more explicitly called out in upcoming action steps. One board member asked for data on whether students “feel safe while riding the bus,” and requested that mental-health supports for students be reviewed for possible inclusion in the plan’s metrics.
The board approved the renewal on a roll call of 7-0.
Ending: The board renewed the strategic plan and asked administration to bring relevant data next year to support any adjustments to action steps under the safety and student-support pillars.
