The Loveland City Council unanimously waived a $150 special event application fee for a student-led Rez Watch party planned for April 19 at Nisbet Park and affirmed an appointment to the Veterans Committee.
Clerk Misty Clark explained the city has been helping students from Tigers Inc. plan a Rez Watch party to raise funds for the Steve Kenyon outdoor classroom; staff asked the council to waive the $150 special event fee to reduce costs. Councilmember Hart described the Kenyon outdoor classroom project and the students’ fundraising work. The council voted to waive the fee on a 6-0 roll call.
Separately, council accepted a resignation from a Veterans Committee member and affirmed the appointment of Alexandra Disventet, a United States Coast Guard veteran, to serve the remainder of the term (ending at the end of this year). The motion to affirm the appointment carried 6 to 0.
Staff also announced a March 31 deadline for flag design submissions and that a TriHealth mobile mammography van will be downtown on April 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the David B. Kennedy parking lot behind City Hall.
